Hi,

Has anyone come across the older SIGRID format or know of any tools or off the shelf file readers?  http://nsidc.org/data/docs/daac/nsidc0050_aari_seaice/sigrid.html

Thanks,

Annette

Hi,

I have never seen or heard about SIGRID support for FME, hopefully someone else can chime in if they've got any experience with it.

That being said, I think it could be a very good candidate for a custom format implemented e.g. using the PythonCreator.

Have a look at the example I posted here that uses a PythonCaller to parse a CSV file into FME features. It should give you an idea how it could be done.

Hi Annette!

I see there are 2 example-files on the site you mention. As David mentions it is possible to create a custom format to handle this. If you contact me at sigher (AT) norkart.no with a small example-file I can see if we already have some reader available for this format through some other in-house software.
