Hi

We have an FME Server 2018.1.1 installation on RHEL7.

For the fmeserver user, that runs the engine jobs, when writing a directory or file the permissions are set to rwx------ (700) with fmeserver being the owner user and owner group.

We have other users that need to access these files too, so we'd like it so the default permission for fmeserver write directories/files to be rwxrwxr-x (775).

We have added the fmeserver into a second group to allow access to other r/w locations and we have also added specific users into the fmeserver group.

We get the same behavior if the fmeserver is writing to a location if it is the owner of or just part of another group.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Adie

Maybe this answer is relevant to your use case, it explains how to set default permissions in a specific directory:

Thanks David

I've been looking at the umask values for the fmeserver user and they are set to the defaults 0002. When i create a directory/file in bash the permissions come out as rw-rw-rw- but when the directory/file is created via fme server job the permissions seems to be coming out as rw-------
