I am new to this software and it looks promising.  I've transformed a DWG file to SHP format but I don't know where the resulting shape files(s) are. .

Hi,

 

 

If u used a shapewriter it will appear in the navigator panel (standard it is placed on the left side of the benchniterface).

 

If u expand it (click on the tiny arrow) u will see lots of info.

 

On of those, the first under the green parameter icon is the shape destination etc.

 

U can double-click it and then click the browse icon, u will be at the location u wrote them to.
