PDF/Word documents have the ability to create form fields for users to fill in. Looking for the ability to auto-populate some or all of these fields from a database record. Ideally, the writer would accept a template .docx or .pdf and allow the field from the database to write to a field in the form.

Hi @drc43   just wondering were you able to get this working as I am trying to the same where FME would fill in a template and export with the values inputted?

Looking for this option as well. Is this possible now? We have a process where we’d like to fill out a government of Canada pdf form using data from our databases.

Hi @arutherford,

We haven’t put this on the roadmap yet (simply as it’s quite complex on the development side to get right) but I’m trying to bring forward PDF and Office features at every release. It’s on my list of high candidates at the moment for second half of the year proposals.

If other users could share similar intended uses (Source document, type of data to fill, expected output) that would help me to justify development & clarify requirements (and thank you for giving this example!).

Cheers
