As a user, I want to use the exif metadata of my picture file to be read by the Exif reader so I could use the metadata for my translation.

If you read JPEG, the Rasterdata has all information.

Doesn't the current EXIF format attributes cover your needs?

Not all information from a photo appears in the EXIF format attributes, as I can see. Certainly using exiftool extracts more information. However, it may be in a different format, XMP? but is still embedded with the image. This may be useful for UAV imagery, such as pitch, roll and yaw or relative altitude, rather than absolute (above msl) altitude, especially as phodar is gaining momentum wrt lidar.
