Since it is very common to retrieve GeoJSON and EsriJSON, how about combining the fragment-as-format functionality of JSONFragmenter into HTTPCaller, in the response handling?

Do find the GeoJSON reader good at handling that particular response format, but for straight-up JSON I'm with you 100% Bruce.
