Great idea! I'd like to be able to "publish" a very simple jobsubmitter form for a specific workspace, making it easy for end users to start a job without a username/password or even knowing anything about FME Server at all. Ideally it should be possible to translate / localize the form text, but it's not a deal-breaker.

The form should be very minimal, e.g with only the following elements that should all be customizable:

• Header
• Short text description (markup?)
• Published parameters
• Submit/reset-buttons
• Maybe a tiny footer where you can put a custom disclaimer or contact info

Localization would be nice, a custom logo or header too.

Ability to add background maps as in FME Data Inspector for user inputs to workspaces along with forms will be of additional interest to me.

A tutorial on how to set up a basic custom web page to run a workspace on FME Server would be a nice start. I think I can cobble together something by looking at the Developer Playground but it would still require some trial and error.

If by customizing you mean that

 

- you could define what fields/columns and in which order are shown in various listings

 

- you could sort list by any visible field

 

- you could filter what is shown

 

then yes, I'd like that too !

Being able to override the color of the left side menu background to distinguish e.g. TEST and PROD servers would be fantastic.

I am with @david_r just a simple way of changing the skin to be able to tell different environments apart. ie. DEV TEST PROD.

Some parts are changeable now but a more simpler approach would be nice

Even though it's fairly simple to build custom Web-pages and integrate with the REST-API etc I really do think this would add value. I think some simple things as this would make it both more fun and a sence of "Cool I made this!"

I think it would really cool to be able to drag and drop different components for the web ui. Similar to how you build FME workspaces, I would like for it to be easy to customize the ui. There are many web app builders out there now, but having that functionality built in directly into FME Server would be the icing on the cake! Basically taking the functionality that you can see on the FME Server playground, and making those available to customize the FME Server page instead of having a separate web app connected.
