I use a lot the grid in the workbench, and I sometime need to show/hide it quickly for quick screen capture or to align my transformer.

As for now, I have to :

  • click View
  • click Grid and Guides…
  • click show grid to enable/disable
  • close the grid and guides window
  • do my thing, then all over again,
  • click View
  • click Grid and Guides…
  • click show grid to enable/disable
  • close the grid and guides window

It would be an absolute QoL to have this option available as a toolbar action. It doesn’t seem too intrusive for those who doesn’t use it, and not really difficult as a feature to implement.

*Guides can be cool when everything is already aligned and readable. But I generally will use grid in FME as well as other nodal IDE (Touchdesigner,UE,…).

And I will usually hide grid to take screenshots/captures when writing courses or documentation.
