Hi, I do a lot of image QA on ECW files and have automated much of my workflow via FME. Two tasks are still manual; checking ECW version number and the compression ratio (actual and target) of the image. The RasterPropertyExtractor can see the attributes, but does not always extract these values despite them being available via other software packages for all ECW files. I'd like to see the RasterPropertyExtractor being updated so that it is able to extract these values reliably.

+2Update: Sorry, I should have said "the ECW reader can see the attributes......" and "I'd like to see the ECW Reader being updated.....". It is the ECW reader that is currently failing to correctly see the compression and ECW version. The RasterPropertyExtractor is performing other tasks.
+2Hi, I've been a little obsessed with this problem and discovered some additional facts that might shed light on this "idea". It appears as though the ECW reader will only retrieve the ECW compression ratio, version, company etc. when ER Mapper is used. Since we receive imagery from multiple suppliers, we can not control the software being used, but I still need to extract the metadata successfully so that I can perform the QA checks.
