Currently it's possible to read and write metadata to ESRI file geodatabases and SDE when the "Feature Read Mode" is set to "metadata". However, this option does not exist to read or write metadata for the ArcGIS portal feature service. This would allow users the ability to read/edit the "Summary", "Description", "Tags", and "Credits" of a feature service.

This would be great for ArcGIS Online! My County wants to use FME for updating and managing our reguarly updated hosted feature services, but this is a key piece that is missing.

Hi @daleatsafe, I was wondering if there is any news on this subject? Writing metadata to both ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online would be very useful features. Thanks in advance.

I agree that having this functionality in ArcGIS Online would be handy as well.

FYI, this idea is related internally to FMEENGINE-77290.

We have now added support for Metadata support in both ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Portal.
