FME has an AutodeskA360Connector transformer.

For BIM models Autodesk created BIM 360 Docs, similar to A360.

For more information: https://www.autodesk.com/products/bim-360-docs/overview

For a customer I request a AutodeskBIM360Connector transformer that allows conneting to BIM 360 Docs for uploading and downloading files.

We are under the belief that it will work for BIM 360 docs as well. Perhaps try and let us know? We can add an alias if need be.

The AutodeskA360Connector only access the BIM360 Team platform. In order to interact with Docs, you might want to have a look into Autodesk Forge where you can create your own apps and connect to a few of their WEB based products (Docs, Glue, Field, etc.) It is likely that Team will be merge into Docs eventually because they're virtually similar.

Dale, is there any update on whether we can read & write into BIM 360 docs? Does the AutodeskA360Connector work for this?

@daleatsafe are there any plans of developing a BIM360 Docs connector? This would be very usefull.

Is this working successfully for someone?

I can connect to BIM 360, but no object IDs to show.

It doesn't work. To connect to BIM 360 Docs you need to go through the Forge API and create a web connection to it.

+1, having a DOC 360 connector would be really cool. I use the Data Management API to grab files, or generate reports for our project managers. It works pretty well, but the Forge API is not exactly user friendly, or well documented. :(

Just having a small docs explorer that does the OAuth and returns the proper ids for Hub/Project/Folder/Items would be very useful.

Hello! Safe is looking for some additional information around this Idea. We've put together a <5 minute survey to help answer some questions. If you've got a coffee break's worth of time to spare, and are a BIM 360 Docs user, we'd really appreciate the feedback. Cheers! Survey will close Monday, July 13, 13:00 PST.

I confirm that this issue is still ongoing. A360 is the equivalent of BIM Teams which used to be the hub for C4R (Collaboration For Revit) from Autodesk. On the Autodesk side, BIM360 is a different product within a specific ecosystem (BIM360 DOCS, BIM360 Design, etc.). It would be very usefull to be able to access BIM360 Docs directly.

LAST CALL! We've had some great responses so far (thank you for your contributions!), but are still looking for a few more opinions. The survey (linked here) will stay open until end of day Wednesday, July 29 for any last minute responses. Feel free to share with your teams or anyone you think would be a good match. Cheers.

Has there been any further progress made on this connection?

Hi @Karinabradley - we have this connector In Development right now. It will be released on FME Hub in the coming months, and we will update this idea when it is live - so look out for that!

An update from Safe Software:

  1. The official feedback survey for this package is still live. If you are trying out this package, we'd appreciate you taking a few minutes to let us know how we are doing: https://forms.gle/m9X6nMm5soGLjXcq8
  2. We have launched a new article to explain the process to create the web connection. You can find that here: https://community.safe.com/s/article/How-to-create-a-BIM-360-Document-Management-Web-Connection

Great Transformer - I'm starting to use it, although it was rather fiddly to set up the BIM360 side of things.

I have a question on functionality:

On 'List' mode I am able to expose certain Output attributes - i.e. Created, Created_by, _full_path, _version etc etc.

But not expose all of the attributes that are in the BIM360 folder.

Is it possible to expose other BIM360 Document Management Attributes from a folder - for instance any other attributes such as 'Description', Approval Status that have been added within BIM360?

Hey @matthew_banyard! Thanks for reaching out to us here with feedback - it's always great to get opinions from out in the field.

We currently do not support the attributes that you are mentioning here, but we could look into it if we had more information. If you could pull together a list of the specific attributes that you need, and Submit a Case https://community.safe.com/s/submit-case/ with the information, that would help us to understand what you are looking for.

I (obviously) monitor this forum as well, so for anyone reading this - if you post specific details of your triumphs and trials you've had working with this Connector - we'll take that into account for future development.

Thanks all!
