As an FME User, I want the PostgreSQL writer to be able to write default values if I send an empty string/missing/blank value(s) to the writer. Currently, if you want to the database to write the default value, you have to use an SQLCreator or SQLExectutor (as per the workarounds provided on the linked threads below).

This issue is currently being tracked as: FMEENGINE-8945

The default value would be welcome in SQL Server as well.

Definitely a major bug to be fixed on every database format if we want to have FME considered as a "general ETL" player.

Hello, is there any update on this issue? We are migrating from Oracle (where such logic works perfectly) to Postgresql and this non expected behaviour gives us really hard time to workaround using functions and triggers. Thanks. Regards. Eric
