Hi

Does anyone know how I can set a specific DWG layer visibility to be "off" by default? I have 100's of layers and would like to set some to be "on" and some to be "off".

I can "freeze", "hide" or "lock" the layer via the format parameters section for the feature type properties - is their a way to switch visibility off?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,

How about Layer On: no (also in the writer feature type properties)?

Hi

The only options I have are:

Default Layer color

Default Layer Linetype

Layer Frozen

Layer Hidden

Layer Locked

Am I looking in the right place?

I'm on 2013 - build 13264

If you can definitely see the "Layer on" option I'll have to look into getting the service packs installed.

Thanks.

you can try to manipulate the autocad_layer_on

Hi Itay

I Installed SP4 and the option is still not there.

So I've tried the other method - but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm relatively new to FME so may be making a mistake - but I added the following to my mapping file header:

REALDWG_1_DEF Building_Area \\ autocad_color 41 \\ autocad_linetype CONTINUOUS \\       autocad_layer_on no

Any ideas?

Hi Mike,

This is strange since I see the option in all but one Autocad writer (Autodesk AutoCAD DWF)

The only other way I can think of is by using a template file.

Right, found the problem.

The option was not available when I originaly created the dwg layers in FME 2013 - so these layers were not offering the switch even when loaded up in the new FME version.

When I now create a new writer DWG layer with 2013 SP4 the option is available.

So I transfered all the layers to the new Writer and the option is available.

All sorted!!

Thanks Itay.

Mike
