One step dwg symbolising for pdf (or other output)

Howdy,

Is it possible to grab points from a miscellaneous database, associate them with a dwg block (ie symbol, by way of a template file) and then effectively expand those blocks into entities prior to rendering out to a pdf, or even as a raster. It's an easy enough exercise to do it in two steps using an intermediate dwg file but I can't see a way to do it in one.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Can you upload a screenshot of your workspace that you have got already? Just to see your starting-point.
