Lakes and Rivers won't drape over DEM [Minecraft]

Hello FME! I have some data in the Esri shapefile format that consist of rivers and lakes, using data from Kartverket.

Originally they were in the SOSI format, used by Kartverket. What I've done is that I've taken the polygons and the polygonlines and converted them to the Esri shapefile format using QGIS.

What happens after I add them to my workspace and let them combine with the DEM, is that they won't drape, and they also seem to remove/hide some land from the DEM if it's on the same level (or below it)

I looked at the example from Bowen island, but it required some additional data.
