Is it possible to use FME cloud instead of FME server for work flow managment? ie run chained work flows which rely on the output of the previous step/s

FME Server and FME Cloud is basically the same thing, the difference being that FME Server runs on your own infrastructure (servers), whereas FME Cloud runs in the, well, cloud :-)
So yes, you can chain jobs on FME Cloud the same way as on FME Server.
