No bookmark navigator in 2024.2
Bookmark navigator in 2023

In FME 2023.2, there was a "Show Bookmark Navigator" checkbox under Tools → FME Options → Toolbars.

In FME 2024.2, this option seems to be missing on my system. We're in the process of switching versions and noticed it's no longer there.

I use this feature frequently to quickly navigate between bookmarks in large workspaces.
I've attached two screenshots showing the difference between versions.

Has this functionality been removed, renamed, relocated or is this a bug?

Thanks in advance.

There is no additional detailed info in the docs:

It does look like it’s been removed - but the bookmarks are still available in the Navigator window and work in much the same way, if not more convenient.

Thanks for the confirmation and your input. I’m aware the bookmarks are still in the Navigator, but that’s not my preferred workflow.

I use the Navigator window for other elements like transformers, parameters, database connections, and web connections. With so many items, bookmarks tend to get pushed far down or require scrolling.

What made the Bookmark Navigator in the toolbar so useful was that it provided quick, horizontal access with minimal screen space and no need to scroll. Especially in large workspaces, it was a very efficient way to jump between sections (and a good motivator for the organisations I consult to adopt clear and consistent bookmark titles).

I’ll go ahead and submit a feature request to have this functionality reconsidered for future versions.
