I work for Riteway Towing INC, a leading towing company in Queens, NY. We're exploring ways to enhance our operations, particularly in managing our fleet of tow trucks and providing timely roadside assistance. Given the complexity of NYC's traffic and the high demand for 24 hour towing, we need a robust solution for real-time data integration and route optimization.

Can FME help us integrate various data sources (like traffic updates, GPS data, and service requests) to streamline our dispatch processes and improve response times? Additionally, has anyone implemented FME for similar logistics and fleet management tasks? Your insights and experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, A good place to start for this is the FME YouTube channel. There are a few videos on how FME is used for bring together various data streams in near real time. The video “Powering Real-Time Decisions with Continuous Data Streams” by the FME team is a useful introduction to what FME can do.  

 

 

Hi @oliviamarie Unfortunately the ShortestPathFinder transformer is not currently able to optimize routes for multiple vehicles.  Please upvote this enhancement request: Travelling salesman with multiple vehicles
