Additional thoughts.......
Two possible approaches Safe may wish to consider if this functionality is added to FME:
1. JPG - IPTC attributes: Expose IPTC attributes on JPG files eg the Keywords attribute - ideally keywords would be exposed as a list attribute (seperated by a comma etc) as it can have null or an infinite number of keywords.
2. File attributes: Expose the Tags attribute with the Directory and File Pathnames Reader when the Retrieve file properties is set to Yes.
Currently this exposes the attributes - file modified date, file created date etc
What about exposing other file attributes eg Tags ??? (plus there are loads more file attributes)
Tags can be seen eg in Windows explorer as a file attribute. Tags on JPGs in Explorer = IPTC keywords
The good thing about this file attributes approach is that any tagged file type could have its attributes exposed eg MS Word docs / Autocad dwgs etc etc - which can also be tagged (as can all other file types)
............
Just ideas

With this post being 3 years old, has there been any progress on exposing IPTC information?
FME 2015 does not include it but just searching there are hardly any posts suggesting this is still not possible?
Thanks, Uwe
