I performed an upgrade of FME Server from 2018.1 to 2019, Windows 64 bit Server Express installation. Post install, I can get to the FME Server GUI but cannot log in to it.

Have tried:

  1. logging in with AD credentials, admin/admin account, or SA account.
  2. Uninstall and reinstalling FME Server 2019
  3. Hitting different URL addresses

Please help!

Hi @sashalockamy

As of FME Server 2019 the user no longer specifies the log in details during the initial installation. These are set to the default values Username: admin / Password: admin (all lowercase) and it is recommended you change this password once logged in. This is outlined in the final window of the install wizard:

If you are still receiving an error logging in using admin/admin please could you share the
  • fmeprocessmonitorcore and fmeserver log files available in <fmeserversystemshare>/resources/logs/core
  • catalina and localhost_access logs from <fmeserversystemshare>/resources/logs/tomcat

so we can investigate the issue further. If you do not want to post these on the public forum please create a case here: https://www.safe.com/support/report-a-problem/ and link this question in the description.

Thank you, I have followed up sharing the log files on the support ticket.

@hollyatsafe thank you for the quick response. I have tried

username: admin

password: admin

and it was unsuccessful. I have a support case in the system.

If you have performed an in-place FME Server upgrade and then cannot log in to FME Server this may be indicative of a mismatch with the Database Schema. This problem occurs when during the uninstall the old database was not fully removed and now the new install is trying to connect to this.

Please review this article for more information and how this can be resolved: https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/79069/after-an-fme-server-upgrade-i-cannot-log-in.html

What was the resolution to this? We are running into the same issue.

Hi @ml56067,

The resolution for this case was the answer posted on March 20th - to check if you are experiencing the same issue please follow the instructions on this article. If you are still having problems after that please share your fmeserver.log
