Hi.

I need some support for tender assumptions. Is it possible to install two kind of FME Desktop fixed (node-locked) license (e.g Pro and Smallworld) on single machine and use selected license in batch mode of fme.exe process running? I need to control license usage according to two different custom applications which use fme batch processing.

Hi

It shouldn't be necessary to have both licenses installed on the same machine (and I suspect it isn't possible either). The Smallworld Edition contains all the functionality of the Pro version, so just having the Smallworld Edition installed should be enough for both custom applications.

You can also run several instances of FME on the same machine using just one node-locked license.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I always thought that with one fixed license I can run only one fme.exe process. BTW, do you know where is it mentioned in documentation?

The limit is 8 concurrently running instances of fme.exe, it is detailed here: https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/139/how-many-concurrent-fme-processes-can-i-run-at-my.html
