Hello, I try to solve one problem with autocad object data reader, but Im still unsuccessful :-(

I have one DWG created in FME through Autocad object data writer and I have to open this DWG in another workspace. If I load DWG via autocad object dat reader in workbench, all features are loaded, but WITHOUT TEXT entities, which are part of the block. If I load the same DWG only in inspector, I can see all features including text entities inside block. Can somebody help me please? Why autocad object data reader in workbench is not able to read text entities of block?

I attached also some screenshots.

Thank You so much!

Lubo

Hi @lazarlubomir,

If the text within the block is a visible block attribute, the Object Data reader will store it as an attribute on the block feature instead of rendering it.

The other DWG readers have an option to read visible attributes as text entities, which will display the text if enabled. However, this option is not presently available on the Object Data reader, most likely because we thought that Object Data users would moving the data to GIS and would prefer attributes to text features.

If you would like the read visible attributes option added to the Object Data reader, please send me a sample DWG including the appropriate block(s), and I will create an enhancement request for our development team.

Hello, Yes, probably it wolud be great and many users will appreciate if object data reader will be able to read text from blocks. I attached ZIP file, where is DWG... The block is named "RAZITKO_A3".

Thank You so much! :-)
