Is there a way to update (core or custom) metadata fields of a dataset on Socrata Open Data Portal?

Just to clarify your question. Are you asking if it's possible to "work with actual Socrata datasets but be able to set some values, like 'description' "? Is that correct?

 

 

If so, our current Socrata 'datasync' library does not have awareness of any metadata. However, if this is functionality you would like added to FME, you can submit an idea for the developers. The ideas page can be found here: https://knowledge.safe.com/content/idea/list.html
