Read and Write 12d File Formats

A native 12D reader/writer would definitely be useful - a lot of 12D users here!

I work for 12d in a support role and have been asked a number of time in the past few month if there is a translator for 12d and FME, both from surveyors and GIS users. Let me know if you need any help in getting it working

Yes, we definitely want to move this forward and have reached out for more info about the format. It won't be for 2019 now, but maybe 2020. Can I ask, do folks here need a reader, or a writer, or both? Is there any specific data types that you need supporting (I know nothing of this format/software). If we know what sort of scenarios are important, then it will help prioritizing things.

A reader and writer would be great as 12d is the main stay within Australasia for creating civil design project for small to large civil projects within, say a Joint Venture that uses a number of different software packages.

Also surveyed & capturing asbuilt information for local and central government using GIS.

Awesome and thanks @annabelleatsafe. I tested it this morning on some survey data in 12dxml format and it was working for me.

Hello, I tested the 12DXML reader this morning and can get out the geometries fine. Still having problems translating the nested attributes into something that can be used in the Esri world. Do you have any sample workflows or additional documentation?

Any sample workspaces to this effect would be fantastic

Would be greatly improved with the ability to write string_super_alignment and String_Drainage with pits included.
