Question

How to thin an PointCloud where the Points are lined up

Forum|alt.badge.img

Hey,

another problem ocurret with the PointCloud file, in this case all Points are lined up in the orignal File like rectangles. If i do the "normal" thin setup i became only slope lines. I need mixed up points all over the area. Is it possible to do ist with FME. You can see the problem an the Setup on the screenshots.

The PointCloudThinner won't do this, you could try using a SurfaceModeler taking your point cloud as input and then setting the output DEM X and Y spacing to whatever you want. The DEMPoints output has the re-interpreted points.

Hi @florena1,

have you tried to use a different setting? Using the 'Every Nth point (Interval)' with a different setting could bring a different result. The setting you used spreads it evenly, creating this pattern.

Otherwise you should perhaps keep more points at first?
