Hi,

Does FME Server support LDAPS?

the closets KB article I found is:https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Server_Documentation/AdminGuide/Import_CA_Certificate_for_AD_SSL_Connections.htm but unfortunately introducing a certificate doesn't seem to be working.

Anybody have any experience with FME Server + LDAPS and would like to share his/her experience?

@david_r @mark2atsafe @jlutherthomas

Thanks,

Itay

Hi Itay, I've never used LDAPS so hopefully someone else can respond to that specifically.

But I've had some problems connecting to LDAP servers before: the reply I got from Safe basically said that some implementations interpret the standard differently, and some of them didn't play well with FME Server. So it might be an idea to reach out to Safe and check if that particular LDAP server has been known to be problematic or not.

Cheers and good luck!

Hi David, thanks for sharing, my next step is to contact Safe just wanted to know if somebody from the community has any experience with LDAPS.

Cheers,

Itay

Hi itay

I have installed lots of FME Server and configured HTTPS / AD / SSO/IWA with LDAPS, bit it's a bit tricky some times. ADFS is not yet supported by FME Server.

The main reasons why it fails are invalid Certificate, FME Server Server Account (permissions) on Domain Controller, incorrect setting of the Service Principal Names (!!) on the DC and in FME Server AD settings and combinations of these.

If this is still an issue for you, please let me know so I can share the configuration process in detail.

Kind regards

Krien Guijt
