We need an Active Directory connection with group managed service account (gMSA).
We can only use gMSA (for the "search account") to connect to the AD.
Right now, FME Server supports only regular accounts. So, i cannot use our AD.
That's the interesting point for me.
Please support the gMSA in FME Server :-)
We would also like to see support for gMSAs for the directory server connection in FME Server.
Our parent organization requires that Active Directory service account passwords are cycled frequently, and we have to manually update those, which is extra work.
We've seen the support for gMSAs grow significantly across multiple vendors, and use one to run the FME-related Windows services themselves, which has worked out well.
If the directory server connections could use one of the services to authenticate, that would give administrators the option to use a gMSA or a traditional service account.
Using AD for our user authentication is an excellent arrangement for user management and sign-in experience, it's just the implementation and related administrative work that could very much benefit from an overhaul.
We support this request - it makes alot of sense!
