Update AutoCAD block attribute

Hi all,

I want to update certain attributes in a DWG block.

To the left where it says "test" I have updated an attribute. However FME writes out duplicate blocks and the new one is also bigger than the original.

Is there a way to update attributes and write the changes to a DWG without touching anything else?

Thanks!

Hi @j2

I'm sorry you're running into this issue. How are you updating the block attribute? Are you able to provide your workspace and log file? These may be helpful in determining the cause of your issues.

If you are unable to upload the workspace, it may be useful in reviewing the following article relating to DWG blocks: https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/59335/autocad-dwg-block-attribute-extraction.html

Please note if you have specified a template file in the writer and your template file contains the block already, the DWG writer will output both the block in your input file and the block in the template file.

@jatoxa Did you figured out this issue?
I am also trying to do the same. I am creating blocks with updated attribute values, not just updating attribute values. I am concerned about creating blocks at a specific place which is currently happening.
