I've used Schema Mapper on a dwg-reader. In the schema mapper i did the simpliest feature mapping. Source to destination feature. It seems like it's very random if it works or not, why is this?

I have used the SchemaMapper quite a bit and have not had any problems with it.
Can you tell us how you're using the SchemaMapper? The more details, the better.

I had some issues with changing the CSV-file and FME not "catching" the new file. Mostly when I did not change the number of lines between each edit (ie- only editing lines instead of adding/removing lines). Usually it helps to delete the Schemamapper, and add a new one and walk throught the tutorial again
