drape high resolution orthophoto to TIN

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I try to drape a high resolution orthophoto (12'000x12'000pix) to a TIN with the AppearanceSetter. But I only get an black surface. When I resize my orthophoto to 3'000x3'000 Pixel everything works fine.

Is this a limitation in the AppearanceSetter? Is there an other solution to keep the high resolution?

Thank you very in advance!

Look at this post if you havent read it already. https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/53119/how-to-drape-a-geotiff-on-clipped-triangles-or-tin.html

1. Is the black surface shown on Data Inspector?

2. Can you try to write to OBJ, 3ds or other and open the file in some other software - for instance https://3dviewer.net/ - does it still show?

I'm not aware of any limitations, but what you can do is use a Tiler to chop the photo into smaller bits and see if that makes a difference.

Hi redgeographics I will give that a try and let you know if it's working. But probably not before Friday.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Hi sigtill

You've been right - it was only the Inspector having problem. When I export the result and open it in an other program everything is fine! Sometimes the solution is that easy :-)

Thank you very much!
