Good afternoon. I am in need of a transformer that can promote a certain row to create attributes Dynamically. It would be like a power query promote first row to header.

I am reading a text file but text_line_data is coming in as the attribute instead of the data from the first row. This could be useful when reading csv files and specifying a particular row that has the attribute names.

Hi @gboquin

Thank you for your idea. We are looking for more clarification. Depending on the structure of your text file (.txt), you can use the CSV reader to read it in and in the parameters set the Delimiter, as well as the Field Names to a specific row. After creating the reader, these values can also be parameterized via the Navigator window.

If that is not what you are looking for, could you please expand on your idea by providing a basic example with mock data.

Hi @LizAtSafe  good question. I needed this to be dynamic. The challenge is reading the csv forces you to specify a schema. That is why I was trying to read the txt file and then create the dynamic schema by promoting a certain row. Initially the files I needed to generate were CSV, but it was forcing me to define the schema.

I hope that this makes sense.
