Hi

I have upgrade FME Flow and FME Form to version 2023.1. S3 Connector v2.1.2 works fine in Form, but not on Flow.

The Packages Folder was empty after new install. I ran a S3 Work Bench on the Server, it unpacked on engine, but all the folders are empty. Got the following error.

59	2023-9-18 15:42:59 | Python Exception <ModuleNotFoundError>: No module named 'fmepy_amazons3'
60	2023-9-18 15:42:59 | PythonFactory failed to load python symbol `fmepy_amazons3.connector.S3Connector'. An outdated FME packaged transformer may be in use. Please check Tools > FME Options > FME Packages to confirm that all FME Packages are up to date
61	2023-9-18 15:42:59 | Factory proxy not initialized
62	2023-9-18 15:42:59 | S3Connector_CALLER (PythonFactory): PythonFactory failed to process feature

Hi @siennaatsafe

I have open a support case - and it seems the above is a bug. The issue is when you have miniconda install on the server using python 3.11 as base and or an environment with 3.11.

[C693742] Package not working on FME Flow 2023.1 - folder is empty

Issue Summary: FME Package installation fails with Anaconda 3 installed on the same system (Failed to import ctypes) - Issue now resolved

You will find the update in our latest FME 2023.2 beta (b23748+): safe.com/beta

We expect this change to be included in the official release of FME 2023.2

Hi @rudy_v,

Can you try running through this troubleshooting article to see if it helps? https://community.safe.com/s/article/FME-Server-and-Packages-Python-Exception-ModuleNotFoundError

If that does not work, would you mind opening a support case with us and we can walk you through more specific troubleshooting steps.

Hi @siennaatsafe

I will give the troubleshooter a try - It worked fine on 2022.2.5 FME Server - I have upgraded to 2023.1, in the same location, so I don't think permission is an issue. I will login as the service account just to check - any permissions - that maybe could have gone wrong

Cheers

Rudy

Hi @siennaatsafe

I checked the troubleshooting link, tried it, but it is still not working.

  • fme server is the owner of packages folder
  • no python home variable
  • fme server creates the folders in packages directory - but they are all empty
  • the only thing I added from previous version of fme flow was
    • Upgrade Pro from 2.9 to 3.1
    • miniconda from python 3.10 base to base 3.11
    • and added Pro 3.1 as a new environment from previous 2.9 environment

Hi @rudy_v ,

I'm really sorry, I'm not sure why this is occurring. I think it's best that you open a support case with us (if you haven't already) and we can take a better look there.
