Add attribute to parcels from irregular area overlay

I have a layer that is of scenic hillsides and I need to add an attribute indicating that to the parcels that are touched by the area.  When I used the AreaonAreaOverlayer, it clipped the parcels to match the scenic hillside area.  I need a way to add an attribute to the required parcels without changing their shape.
