Hi,
As a fan of both FME and flowcharts, I would love to see a function that could help visualizing a workflow as if it were a flowchart. When communication it is sometimes better to visualize with simplified information.
Could it be possible for you to create a FlowchartWriter (powerpoint, visio etc format)?
See attached image examples that will hopefully explain what I mean. Picture 1 shows the attached workflow with reader, writer and 3 bookmarks (one of them contains bookmarks, but that is neglected, only the outermost bookmark will be exported). Picture 2 is the exported flowchart. It has symbols for process and database with arrows connecting between them, the same way as they were connected in the workspace. The bookmark text is the same text as the text inside of the process symbols in the flowchart. The colors are inherited from the bookmark colors.
I am aware of that collapsed bookmarks is also a way to simplify a workspace, but the font size is too small and the bookmarks tend to be at long distance from each other, so not very “print-out friendly”. Another solution could be to "collapse to flowchart style", but I would prefer to get an editable file format :)
