This may not tick all the boxes, but I encourage anyone watching the Idea to check out the new Version Control feature in FME Server 2017.1! As this feature is still in its development stages, any feedback to our team will be greatly appreciated.See also.. Idea: FME Server workspace version control and backup.

Also append this to work with FME Desktop if possible. As mentioned on FME Desktop. SO versioning would work on both FME Desktop and Server

@donatsafe, Just to clarify, is the functionality in development for FME Desktop? Or FME Server? I am really looking forward for this functionality!! Thanks

While this hasn’t been added directly into Workbench, we have added support for Version Control to FME Server for 2017.1. With this, it would be possible to upload your workspaces to FME Server and use it to keep track of your workspace versions.  This idea: https://knowledge.safe.com/idea/51410/version-control-in-fme-server-next-steps.html contains a video of how to work with FME Server Version Control and what to do if you don’t already have FME Server. If you’re interested, please try it out and give us your feedback through the idea.

Would be just GREAT to test this on the FME Desktop 2017 BETA anytime!

Cool! I'd love some sort of git integration.
