Cross Section / Profile through a Point Cloud

Hi,

I'm after creating a series of profiles / cross-sections using a mapinfo table containing the lines to be driven through a DEM of the LAS point cloud. The output txt file should contain x, y, z, and chainage (from the zero point of the profile, (which should increase at 0.5m spacing)), and profile_ID (derived from the mapinfo table).

Any guidance on how to achieve this would be much apprieciated.
