Question

Setting the option 'Remove Source XML Attribute' to 'yes' within the XMLXQueryExtractor transformer only clears (but doesn't remove) the attribute

Setting the option 'Remove Source XML Attribute' to 'yes' within the XMLXQueryExtractor transformer only clears (but doesn't remove) the attribute.

It would be nice if the behaviour would be similar to an 'AttributeRemover' transformer, that truly removes the attribute from the 'set of exposed attributes'

If you can reproduce this, it would be a bug and a case for www.safe.com/support

Please submit it to the support team.

It does indeed seem like a bug. My idea however was that by mentioning it in an item like this other users are also made aware of this glitch...

Hi @thijsknapen,

Thank you for reporting this problem. I have been able to reproduce this behaviour, it looks like the Attribute is fully removed from the Feature Information attributes list however there is a disconnect with the table view in Data Inspector/Visual Preview that still shows the Source XML attribute but with a <missing> value.

I agree I would expect when you set 'Remove Source XML Attribute' to 'yes' this should exhibit the same functionality as the AttributeRemover. I have filed a bug to request this is fixed (internal reference: FMEDESKTOP-9941) and will update this post once it is resolved.
