Is it possible to create a negative buffer from an line (not area)? And is it possible to create a left-buffer from an area?

Hi,

If "a negative buffer from a line" means "a shortened line", the Extender (set a negative number to the Extension Length) or Snipper can be used to create that.

What's the "left-buffer"?

Edit: The Extender may not be good for a polyline, the Snipper would be better.
