FME floating license failure: Server node is down or not responding(-96)

I have installed FME desktop 2018. While connecting to license server, its throwing error 'FME floating license failure: Server node is down or not responding(-96). Please note my system already have FME 2017 installed and pointing to same license server.

Hi @debashish,

A great way to get started troubleshooting your license server issue is to run the flexnettroubleshoot.bat file available from https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/543/floating-license-troubleshooting.html - the attachment for this .bat file is at the very bottom of the article.

Also running through this troubleshooting article is a good place to begin - checking for things like :

 

 

a) is the license file still valid (hostname and hostid still match the license server, the license isn't expired etc.)

b) deleting .dat files on the client machine per this Q&A; : https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/39774/why-is-the-licensing-assistant-picking-up-my-float.html

Other questions to ask are :

- Does this only occur on one client machine?

- Did this behaviour occur suddenly? Was the license server working in the past?
