Question

ArcGISPro to Smallworld using FME

Does anyone know if there a possibility to use FME and ArcGISpro to import files into Smallworld 5? I know that they are different architectures(64/32bit), but you think there might be a medium that could be utilized. Using the data interoperability extension in ArcGISPro doesn't give the potential to create a Smallworld 5 writer.

My only thought is you would need to export to an intermediary format that is both 32 and 64 bit supported.

Example:

ArcGIS Pro to <intermediary format> (64 bit)

Then second process to convert <intermediary format> to Smallworld 5 (32 bit)

It's not particularly elegant, so I will be interested to see if someone comes up with a better method.

There is a Smallworld version of FME but it is the most expensive of the desktop versions

The Spatialbiz plugin for FME can read and write Smallworld v5 data and is available in 32 and 64 bit versions.

The Spatialbiz plugin is an addition that can be used on the Database edition of FME.

More information about this solution can be found here: Spatialbiz plugin
