I have an RGB TIFF Image which in ArcGIS is rendered OK. In FME the Red Band is however interpreted as GRAY16 and therefore does not render the image properly when transformed. Why does this happen, and how can I resolve it?
Hi @robertdbuckley, how did you confirm that the band should be interpreted as Red?
ArcMap seems to interpret three integer type bands as RGB color bands by default, but it doesn't mean that the source data has RGB color bands. Sometimes TIFF data could have a band whose interpretation is Gray or UInt, etc. Usually FME won't change the original interpretation implicitly.
Anyway, you can tell FME to change the band interpretation with RasterInterpretationCoercer or RasterBandInterpretationCoercer if necessary.
