Is it in Geoids or directly in Canada I need to put the GSB file ? I never remember.

Directly in Canada should work - you will still need to set the locations in FME Options - Coordinate Systems in Workbench.

I put the GSB file to the proper folder but I get an error when I set the location in FME Options - Coordinate Systems.
I don't have the right to copy-paste the GSB file to the folder though, I had to ask my IT team to do it with the admin user... Would that be possible I need to have full access privileges so that can work?
I tried to use the GSB from C:/temp but I get the same error... Thanks!

The grid can be placed anywhere on your computer, so you can create a folder for it anywhere you have access.
In the Maintain Grid dialog, please use the '-' button to remove the extra pink lines that are there by default.

Hello
I've tried this; stored the GDB file in C:\\Program Files\\FME\\Reproject\\GridData\\Canada, edited the location in FME Options, and removed the extra pink lines, but I still get the "Failed to override.." Do you have any suggestions?
The GDB file I downloaded is the national canadian NTV2_0.GSB from here: https://webapp.csrs-scrs.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/geod/data-donnees/transformations.php?locale=en

Hi @maria22 and @philippeb,
Please try storing the grids outside the \\Program Files path (ie. C:\\Grids\\Canada) and setting that location in the FME Options. The grid override info is written to your Documents\\FME\\CoordinateSystemGridOverrides folder, so please also check that this folder exists, and that you can read and write to it.
I would not recommend using NTv2_0.gsb for the NAD83 to CSRS transformation. This grid converts between NAD27 and NAD83. Please download the appropriate provincial grid from the link above.

I used the path outside and I have all the rights in the CoordinateSystemGridOverrides folder.I still get that same error. I tried on FME 2019 and 2022.Is it possible the GSB Quebec file is corrupted ? Is it working on your side ?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi @philippeb and @maria22,
Please check that the Fallback transformation is not set to the same transformation you are adding the grids to. So the Fallback for NAD83_to_CSRS should not be set to NAD83_to_CSRS. For these transformations, it's probably best to set no Fallback, so FME will halt if the the data is outside the grid boundary.

ohhhh OKAY! I had to leave that Fallback thing without a parameter. It is working great now!! Thank you soooo much!!! :D
Ah yes, I solved it now too, thanks very much! Turns out it wasn't the grid I was looking for, as my data is in the wrong place, but at least I know how to do it now (I think 😊) and FME isn't terminating.
