Hello,

I have a variable set Globally outside a custom transformer (that is also being called via 2 other source datasets).

Within the Custom Transformer I have the VariableRetriever with the variable name I used in the VariableSetter and I set the destination Attribute and click OK.

If I bring up the properties again, the attribute field is blank.

Does the VariableSetter / VariableRetriever not work when using Cusotm Transformers or is there a bug?

Version: FME(R) 2012 SP2 (20120410 - Build 12235 - WIN32)

Hello,

I reproduced your case with FME 2012 SP4 build 12266. I was able to set the properties of the VariableRetriever in the Custom Transformer (in embedded mode) and when I reopened the VariableRetriever the attribute field was still set with the value.

So when I reproduced it correctly it should work with SP4...

Hope that helps,

best regards,

Stefan
