How to create a new XLS writer and copy some properties to the new writer?

Hi!

I'm trying to duplicate an Excel writer, I get a new writer box (see image with arrow 1) , but not actually a new writer (arrow 2).

I've created a somewhat complex writer and creating a new writer from scratch and getting all the parameters in is not a very sensible option because there is room for error.

Trying copy-pate or duplicate does not seem to do the trick. The rationale behind what I want to do is to have 2 different XLS files instead of a file with 2 sheets or tabs.

Any help is appreciated.

If you create another excel writer, you can make a duplicate of the dynamic writer you have, and then change it to the second writer in its parameters. Your attribute schema should be carried over as well when you do this.

Hi @heboma,

Try do insert a new object Writer

And replace with a XLS Table in your workspace.

Thanks,

Thanks @cartoscro! It worked like a charm.

What I did was:

1) Duplicate writer with schema

2) Create a new Excel writer

3) Change to second writer

4) Adjust parameters (template, overwrite, etc..)
