Question

LAS spatial filtering using 3d object

Is it possible to spatially filter a LAS file using a 3d object?

I have created a multipatch 3d AOI in ArcGIS expecting to be able to do 3d spatial analysis with it, but appears that LAS datasets cannot be used with the 3d Analyst extension - Inside 3d tool.

Is this possible in FME? I have tried spatial relator but that does not seem to achieve what I am after.

Currently on 2015.1

Would clipper not just clip in 2d though?

The Clipper transformer can be used to Clip pointcloud objects using a 3D box object.

I have seen demo's by @dmitribagh using FME 2014 or so.
