In the FME Workspace it is possible to fill the properties to describe the workspace:

 

Name, Usage, History, Legal, Category, Description....

 

 

Is it usefull to fill them out? 

 

I ask because the most example workspaces from the safe-software webpage do not use them! The most workspaces use an annotation in the workspace.

 

 

Is it possible to bring the content from the properties into an annotation automatically?

 

 

What is your best practice to use or not to use the workspace properties?

 

 

I'm not sure about best practices, but I fill it out when handing a workbench over to a client. That way even if the original user is gone from the company, someone may find my information in there. They might have a need to reach out and use my services again.
