When programming in Visual Basic for example I can get information about the model and information about the document. How do I do this in FME?

Can I find unused layers in a design file/cad file?
I have a design file with used levels and unused levels. When reading this file in FME I can only see the objects, which means I can only see the used layers. But I am interested in the levels that I don't use. Is there any way to get to this information?
