The issue we have is when we have multiple project teams trying to work on the same workbench then check their work back into Dimensions. For some reason it doesn’t handle merges and/or conflicts resolutions which makes the whole process rather cumbersome, manually inspecting the changes. Looking for a way around this, or possibly another tool to use that doesn't have this problem.

Unfortunately there's no easy way of managing concurrent updates of the same Workspace, even if working in different parts of it. There's no method for merging the changes using a standard Diff/Merge tool despite the file being text based.
A simple move of a Workspace element can significantly change the structure of the file.
Improvements to FME to work better with source control such as Git are high on the wish list for users.
