Hi FME'ers,

I'm just putting together a presentation for the upcoming FME World Tour (incidentally, I understand more details and registration will open in the next few days).

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has tried the beta build of 2018 and has specific tips and tricks that they would like to share, that I could put into that presentation?

Obviously I know the functionality that's in there (collapsing bookmarks, partial runs, etc) - but I thought you might have specific uses for them; for example "with collapsible bookmarks containing annotation I can create documentation right in the workbench canvas"

I understand you may not have had time to try 2018 much yet, but if you do have anything to share please let me know. You can also let me know about any 2017-specific tips and tricks that you might know of.

Thanks.

Mark

Hi FME'ers,

I installed the FME 2018 Beta and tested it.

In my opinion the new FME is coming with so many new and what @Mark2AtSafe listed above is so interesting :)

I would like to share the Translation Log on FME Beta 2018. Now is possible to filter / find the possibles Errors and Warnings, just click the referring buttons:

In action:

Thanks,

Danilo

Very nice!

The partial run function is going to be very useful in debugging workspaces.

Its faster!

Remember to mention that people have to "Upgrade Transformers" - not everyone knows about that!

Just noticed this while lookint at the options:

I agree with you - not everyone knows this option.

Great point @redgeographics

The Excel Styler is an great improvement.

Styling individual cel's is finaly an option with FME.And that's great!

Only styling border has some limitations. You can only style the complete border of cel's.

Further more the GUI of dialogs like Python caller are more intuitive. The Python code for instance is direct visible en mutable inside the settings of the transformer.

Some new issue's that are worth mentioning.
