Reading the original question, then the last answer, then the second-to-last answer really makes my head spin.
Optimally, the sort order should be an individual preference (first-to-last, last-to-first, highest rank). My preferences can be tied to my profile, my browser or both.
+25"Newest Questions" on the frontpage, but also "Newest Answers" which lists the last answered Questions. To keep track of replies on older posts.
